NEET PG 2025: Preparation Tips
Exam Stage |
Subject/Area |
Preparation Tips |
CBT Examination |
Pre-clinical Subjects |
– Study MBBS textbooks (e.g., Ganong’s Physiology, Harper’s Biochemistry, BDC Anatomy) for fundamentals.
– Focus on high-weightage topics: Anatomy (neuroanatomy, embryology), Physiology (cardiovascular, endocrine), Biochemistry (metabolism).
– Use Marrow Notes or DAMS Handwritten Notes for concise revision.
– Practice 20–25 MCQs daily from Prepladder or Marrow QBank to achieve 80%+ accuracy (~40/50 questions).
– Create mnemonics for complex topics (e.g., cranial nerves, metabolic pathways).
– Watch Marrow video lectures for visual understanding of Anatomy and Physiology. |
CBT Examination |
Para-clinical Subjects |
– Study standard textbooks (e.g., Robbins Pathology, Katzung Pharmacology, Ananthanarayan Microbiology).
– Prioritize Pathology (neoplasia, inflammation), Pharmacology (antimicrobials, CVS drugs), Community Medicine (epidemiology, biostatistics).
– Practice 20–25 MCQs daily from Prepladder or DAMS QBank to achieve 80%+ accuracy (~40/50 questions).
– Use flashcards for drug classifications and side effects in Pharmacology.
– Take subject-wise mock tests on Marrow to improve speed and accuracy.
– Refer to “Review of PSM” by Vivek Jain for Community Medicine quick revision. |
CBT Examination |
Clinical Subjects |
– Study standard textbooks (e.g., Harrison’s Medicine, Bailey & Love Surgery, Shaw’s Gynecology).
– Focus on high-weightage areas: Medicine (14%) (cardiology, neurology), Surgery (13%) (trauma, GI surgery), Obstetrics & Gynecology (12%) (high-risk pregnancy).
– Practice 25–30 MCQs daily from Marrow QBank or Prepladder to achieve 80%+ accuracy (~80/100 questions).
– Create flowcharts for clinical algorithms (e.g., management of MI, ectopic pregnancy).
– Watch Prepladder video lectures for Surgery and Medicine case scenarios.
– Review previous years’ papers on natboard.edu.in for question trends. |
CBT Examination |
Exam Strategy & Time Management |
– Practice full-length mock tests (3.5 hours, 200 MCQs) on Marrow, Prepladder, or DAMS to achieve 70%+ accuracy (~140/200 questions, ~560/800 marks).
– Allocate 1 minute per MCQ; prioritize clinical questions (50% weightage) first.
– Mark 10–15 questions for review in the last 15 minutes; avoid guessing due to negative marking (-1 mark).
– Follow a study schedule: 3 hours daily per subject group (pre-clinical, para-clinical, clinical) and 1 hour for revision.
– Analyze mock test performance to improve weak areas (e.g., Pharmacology, Surgery).
– Use NBEMS mock tests on natboard.edu.in for exam-like practice. |
